When should I use a face serum?
Most face serums are safe to be applied twice daily – once in the morning on a cleansed face, before the rest of your makeup, and once at night before bed. But remember to read the directions on your serum’s label for any additional information about the serum’s usage.
Some serums should be avoided during the daytime while some work to their fullest potential when the sun is shining! So read all directions before incorporating any serum into your daily skincare routine. Not sure how to build the right skincare routine? Read here to know more about the perfect skincare routine.
How to correctly apply face serum?
Unlike other skincare products like thick face creams and moisturizers that you massage into your skin in an upward direction, serums are meant to be applied to your face in small tapping motions with your fingertips or your palms. Do not rub your skin excessively, let the serum absorb into your skin on its own. To apply, take a pea-sized amount (about 3-4 drops) of the Vitamin C Booster Serum from the dropper into your palms. Spread it between your palms without rubbing too much. Dab the serum all over your face and neck using small and gentle tapping motions. Wait for a couple of minutes for the serum to completely penetrate your skin before continuing with your skincare regime.
What is the correct order of using skincare products?
How you use face serum plays a huge role in its effectiveness. It is recommended that all your skincare products be used in a specific order to get the most out of each product. Here is how to use your face serum with a moisturizer, toner, and other skincare products in order -
- Exfoliator (Optional)
- Face Serum!
- Eye Cream
- Moisturizer (UV day cream and night cream)
- SPF cream (in the morning)
- Body Lotion
